The CAP system is designed to move water and it all starts at Mark Wilmer Pumping Plant, the first and largest plant in the system. Its six, 66,000 horsepower pumps are adept at their job and if running all pumps at once, they would make quick work of filling an Olympic sized swimming pool, which holds 660,000 gallons of water.
