Kids doing a water activity at CAP headquarters

On June 8, CAP headquarters hosted more than 150 children and grandchildren of CAP employees in our annual Take Your Kids to Work Day. The event fosters education among future generations about the importance of the work we do and to inspires them on their own future career paths. More than 100 volunteers helped develop 10 different hands-on activities to support that goal and reflect this year’s theme, “Working Better Together.” For example, in “H2O Rockets,” the kids learned about engineering, calculated the maximum angle of launched water bottles, and then determined out the height their rocket reached. “The Final Frontier: Where no Kid has Gone Before,” showcased instruments CAP’s Maintenance Control team uses to perform needed inspections such as the R.O.V. for underwater inspections, the drone for aerial inspections, infrared for temperature-related inspection, and a borescope for inaccessible space inspections.
