The engineering and inspection team of David Dent, Phil Jackson, Jonathan Anderson and Joel Jensen review and discuss motor protection drawings as part of the exciter replacement project at Little Harquahala Pumping Plant. The project is replacing the old motor exciters with new digital microprocessor-based exciters. Exciters control and  monitor a pump’s electrical motor rotor which controls the synchronous motor torque. This is a required feature of the 109 synchronous motor pumps in the CAP system that ensure reliable water deliveries.
