During a pump overhaul, the pump is disassembled, and its components are either stored on site, sent to CAP Headquarters for repairs, or sent out for testing. In this picture, the rotor for unit #1 at San Xavier Pumping Plant is being lowered down to level 1 of the pumping plant, where it will be bolted down on the custom-built rotor stand. Testing will determine if the rotor is sent out for repairs, otherwise the rotor will stay safely bolted to the rotor stand until pump re-assembly starts.
