Millwright Mechanic Brandon Eimerman is testing the newest piece of equipment – a waterjet – as it cuts MASTICORD, a “random oriented fiber and rubber composition pad.” He was cutting sections that will be used to cushion pump shaft parts during transport from the machine shop back to its pumping plant. These parts, despite their enormous size, are actually quite delicate, therefore proper packing during transport is critical to ensure their safe arrival.
