CAP Presidents Award Volunteers

This year, more than ever, charities are in need of support. For the 24th year, CAP has committed, not only to assist local charities, but also to recognize our employees who volunteer their time and expertise to these nonprofits.

At its heart, the President’s Award is about service to the community.

“One of CAP’s core beliefs is community connection through volunteerism,” says Lisa Atkins, CAWCD Board president. “Now more than ever, charities need assistance and CAP is grateful for the opportunity to support their efforts.”

This year was the first year without an Awards Ceremony. And while we missed out on the opportunity to celebrate employees’ volunteer contributions, we were able to redirect the funds that would have gone into the event into enhanced community donations.

This year’s recognized charities included the charities CAP, as an organization, supports throughout the year:

  • Desert Mission Food Bank
  • Exchange Club of Tempe (Healing Fields)
  • Free Arts of Arizona
  • Vincent de Paul
  • Wild at Heart
  • Zoo Walk for Autism Research

In addition, CAP donated to the individual charities our employees support:

  • Andrea’s Closet
  • Boy Scouts of America – Troops 401 & 911
  • Cub Scout Pack 990
  • Duet
  • Grand Canyon Rugby Booster Club
  • Rusty’s Angels Sanctuary
  • Scottsdale/Paradise Valley Family YMCA
  • Surrendered Souls Rescue
  • The Herberger
  • Hospice of the Valley
  • Valors Veteran Community
  • Vitalant

CAP salutes these charities for the work they do every day, especially during these unprecedented times!
