For more than 30 years, CAP has had a robust monitoring program in place to provide stakeholders with valuable information regarding source and canal water quality. The program has been customized based on recommendations from stakeholders and expanded to include additional sites and parameters.
One of the changes was the 2021 rollout of a water quality web portal, known as AquaPortal. It provides a user-friendly way for CAP stakeholders to explore, chart and download water quality data in the CAP system. It also provides instant access to extensive laboratory (discrete) and real-time (continuous) data, including details about the water quality sampling program, Lake Pleasant inflow/outflow data and elevation, Alamo Lake releases and much more.
The most recent addition to AquaPortal is the 2025 Water Quality Report.
Scott Bryan, water quality and biology administrator, said the Annual Report provides a background of the CAP Water Quality Monitoring Program and summarizes water quality measured throughout the calendar year.
