Salt Gila Pumping Plant forebay

The forebay of Salt Gila Pumping Plant was drained to facilitate sediment cleanout as part of the Salt River Siphon outage. Once the forebay was dry, a crane removed more than 20 feet of sediment before it was refilled.

Editor’s note:  In 2024, CAP employees submitted photos they took while at work for inclusion into our annual safety calendar. This photo by Jeff Flexhaug, Salt Gila Pumping Plant supervisor, was featured in January.
