Kid at CAP Kids Day 2022

Whether they were staring down the edge of protractors, building homemade centrifugal pumps, or studying the ins and outs of a warehouse, the kids were learning about the duties their Central Arizona Project-employed parents perform to deliver water to central and southern Arizona.

The annual event is called CAP Kids Day.

More than 160 kids and grandkids of CAP employees recently took to CAP headquarters to participate in hands-on activities in areas such as accounting, groundwater replenishment, engineering, safety/first aid, emergency response partnerships and more.

CAP believes it’s critical that Arizonans understand the importance of the Colorado River water CAP delivers and offers free educational materials to the public.

The goal of CAP Kids Day is to foster education among future generations of CAP employees about the importance of the work CAP performs, and to inspire the kids on their own future career paths.
