One kid spoke of Central Arizona Project employees not having to “sleep in their trucks” thanks to administrators. Another performed a poem about her parent being a “water hero.” And in one case, siblings created a Lego-based animated video featuring a typical day for CAP accounting employees.

June 11 was CAP’s Take Your Kids To Work Day – Meet the Workplace Superheroes — gone virtual.

Each year in June, CAP Kids Day means kids and grandkids of CAP employees get to come to CAP and engage in hands-on activities about their parents’ roles in helping to reliably deliver water to central and southern Arizona. CAP is committed to educating youth about water resources, and so when it wasn’t possible to hold CAP Kids Day 2020 on premises due to recent events, the event was modified to a remote-based experience.

Kids were delivered educational fun packs including a webpage of educational resources, and from their homes, created sharable content highlighting why their CAP-employed family member is a #WaterHero.
