The Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board (CAWCD) met Thursday, Dec. 7 at CAP Headquarters. The Board heard several detailed presentations regarding CAP’s power programs and the Nov. 20, 2023 Arizona Reconsultation Committee meeting.
On consent agenda, the Board approved:
- Professional Services Contract for the implementation of a “CAPTR” Database Custom Replacement Solution
- Security Services 90-day contract extension
- Contract modification for professional services for installation and testing of two pilot recovery wells at the Tonopah Desert Recharge project
The Board heard additional presentations on:
- Exchange between EPCOR-Sun City and the Rio Verde Foothills Standpipe District
- 2024 Annual Operating Plan and review of 2023 water operations
- Colorado River conditions
- U.S. deliveries and excess deliveries to Mexico
The CAWCD Board of Directors is a popularly elected, 15-member board. Ten members are from Maricopa County, four from Pima County and one from Pinal County. Members serve six-year, unpaid terms. The board typically meets publicly the first Thursday of each month to establish policy and set rates and taxes for CAP. Meetings are open to the public – in person and via livestream.
