Finding the right job isn’t always easy. You want to find a great place to work – where you contribute to an important mission, have a good work/life balance, feel connected to your co-workers and make a good living.

For the nearly 500 CAP professionals, they have found just that. Because, no matter what your career is–IT programmer, accountant, mechanic, geologist, engineer or electrician–CAP is a great place to work.

Here are 12 reasons why!

  1. Day one benefit eligibility
Employees are eligible for benefits on their first day of employment.
  2. Telework option
Eligible positions can work remotely up to two days each week.
  3. Compressed work week
Nearly all employees work 10 hours a day, Monday through Thursday; employees in some positions can select their start time.
  4. Paid parental leave
All employees are eligible for 6 weeks of paid parental leave to care for the new addition to their family.
  5. The opportunity to contribute to an important mission
Arizona wouldn’t have the amazing lifestyle without the Colorado River water CAP delivers. When you are a CAP employee, you are part of that!
  6. Safety-first work culture
CAP puts safety first. Period. There is no job too important or too urgent that it cannot be done safely. In support of that culture, employees who complete a monthly safety questionnaire can earn $100 annually and all employees are brought to Headquarters for a week-long Safety Week that includes training and elective classes.
  7. Retirement
CAP employees are part of the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) and can contribute to a traditional or Roth 401(k) with company match.
  8. Free employee-only medical coverage
CAP pays 100% of the cost of employee-only medical coverage.
  9. Subsidized carpools and vanpools
For employees who live a distance from their reporting point, there are multiple vanpools that are each subsidized $250 a month. If you carpool, CAP helps with a $50 quarterly gas card.
  10. Commitment to employee development
CAP has a low turnover rate, so employee development is critical to ensure all co-workers are leaders in their field. CAP provides a significant investment in employee training and development, including a full Learning & Development staff and online learning center. It also provides tuition reimbursement of 80% of tuition and books upon completion of the course up to a maximum of $5,250 per year. Development is so important that some positions are only posted for internal candidates!
  11. Robust wellness program
A healthy employee is a happy employee and with a dedicated, full-time wellness administrator, employees have access to educational resources, yoga, one-on-one wellness coaching, annual Wellness Fair and Health Screening (with biometric screenings), wellness challenges and more!
  12. Paid time off
Generous paid time off policies including vacation and sick leave available on first day, paid time off to care for family members, nine paid holidays, bereavement pay, jury duty, voting, and more.
