The Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board (CAWCD) met Thursday, Feb. 1 at CAP Headquarters. President Terry Goddard kicked off the meeting with a reminder that the April 4 Board meeting will be held in Pinal County in Florence, Ariz.
CAP Assistant General Manager Patrick Dent and Planning Analyst Nolie Templeton, PhD, provided an overview of Post-2026 guidelines planning, as well as a comprehensive analysis of the hydrologic models used to project future water conditions in the Colorado River Basin. The goal is to help Board Members as they make future policy decisions regarding CAP’s role in future Colorado River Basin issues. The Board additionally heard a presentation on current Colorado River conditions.
On Consent Agenda, the Board approved:
- Purchasing contract for redundant communication lines
- Construction Manager at Risk, pre-construction phase services contract for the Water Education Center at CAP Headquarters
- Construction contract for the Waddell Pumping Plant fire pump replacement project
- Resolution authorizing officers/agents to deposit, transfer and withdraw monies in the Local Government Investment Pool
- Incumbency Certificate/authorized callbacks for Bank of New Mellon Trust Company
The CAWCD Board of Directors is a popularly elected, 15-member board. Ten members are from Maricopa County, four from Pima County and one from Pinal County. Members serve six-year, unpaid terms. The board typically meets publicly the first Thursday of each month to establish policy and set rates and taxes for CAP. Meetings are open to the public – in person and via livestream.
