We’ve heard it a million times: when you are driving, keep your eyes on the road. It’s great advice, but when you’re part of CAP’s award-winning maintenance team and you’re working along the canal, simply looking in front of you may not be enough.
As CAP’s 336-mile system crosses the state, so do overhead power lines supplying energy to our population, and when these transmission lines are above the operations and maintenance roads, the danger of an employee hitting one is real.
But CAP puts safety first. So recently, signs were installed along the aqueduct where crossing power lines posed a potential risk to employees operating large equipment. Now, CAP employees are protected as are the millions of people relying on the power moving through the state.
Just another way CAP maintains critical infrastructure, ensuring reliable water deliveries while putting safety first!
