Honoring CAP veterans

Approximately 50 CAP employees are proud veterans of the U.S. military, first serving our country and now serving Arizona. In recognition of their service, CAP formally launched “Honoring CAP Veterans,” a program to recognize and thank them.

Assistant General Manager Darrin Francom said CAP had previously recognized veterans in a less formal way, often featuring them in an article or gathering them on Veterans Day for a photo. When Francom, a Navy veteran, was asked by General Manager Brenda Burman to formalize a program, he knew we could do better.

“One of the jewels of CAP is the connections we have, and this program is another way for employees to connect,” said Francom.

He led a team tasked with developing the program, which now includes an annual luncheon, challenge coin, military display, t-shirts and veterans’ portraits. It was a team effort, which is evident by the top-notch results achieved.

“People thrive at work when they know there are people at work who care about them and this program and ‘Honoring CAP Veterans’ does just that,” said Francom.

To all veterans, thank you for your service and dedication to our country!
